Sheila Moodie is an Associate Professor in the School of Communication Sciences & Disorders at Western University. She is a Research Associate in The National Centre for Audiology where she is the Director of the Family-Centred Early Intervention Lab. Dr. Moodie’s research emphasizes empowering family members with the necessary knowledge and skills to support parent-child interaction and family well-being. Additionally, Dr. Moodie’s research addresses the significant importance of family-to-family supports as facilitators of improved family dynamics, confidence, and knowledge which are important for the overall development and language learning of DHH children. As a member of the writing team for the 2024 International Consensus Statement on FCEI-DHH, Dr. Moodie has contributed to identifying global implementation evidence for FCEI-DHH. In 2022, Dr. Moodie with NCA colleagues were awarded the Governor General of Canada Innovation Award. Dr. Moodie received the 2023 Antonia Brancia Maxon Award for EHDI Excellence.
