My Name is Matthew Ardis; I am a doctor of audiology Au.D. student at the California State University of Los Angeles and research assistant under Dr. Raymond Goldsworthy at the Bionic Ear Lab located in the USC Caruso Department of Otolaryngology. I recently graduated from the University of California Los Angeles and received my bachelor’s in Psychology. The Bionic Ear Lab primarily focuses on topics regarding cochlear implant psychophysics and signal processing. I have been a part of the lab since 2021 and have been collaborating on projects involving binaural integration, music appreciation, working memory, and stream segregation in cochlear implant users. Being a bilateral cochlear implant user myself, the fields of Otolaryngology and Audiology are very close to me. Progress and advancements in this realm have directly affected me and dramatically altered my life. I also have a significant interest in these disciplines and am eager to learn more.
