Cathy is a Licensed Independent Social Worker and has a master's degree in social work from the University of Cincinnati. Her passion has always been to assist patients and professionals alike in understanding the psychosocial impact of hearing loss.
Using her own journey with hearing loss and research, she developed and taught an education program titled "The Hidden Impact of Hearing Loss" for twenty-five years in which thousands of individuals attended.
Cathy was also instrumental in the development of Southwest Ohio ENT Specialists' Tinnitus Treatment Program. She is the lead provider of the program and has worked with hundreds of tinnitus patients for the past five years providing education and counseling assisting them to live successfully with their tinnitus.
Cathy has had progressive hearing loss and tinnitus for most of her life. After wearing hearing aids for several years, she qualified for cochlear implants and is extremely thankful for them.
