Abstract: The aim of this study is to determine if online auditory training is a valid and efficacious treatment for those with auditory processing disorder as well as to identify any barriers to success. A retrospective chart review on Buffalo Model Auditory Processing Evaluations before and after Buffalo Model Auditory Training at an outside clinic were assessed. Paired t-tests revealed statistically significant difference post treatment for 12/14 test categories, including Number of Errors on Staggared Spondaic Word test, p< 0.001, with a large effect size (cohen's d: -0.941). Further ANOVA analysis will investigate the role comorbidities have on treatment success.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the exercises involved in Buffalo Model Auditory Training.
Assess the efficiency of auditory training for central auditory processing patients.
Evaluate factors and their impact on the success of auditory training.
