Maria De Jesus Reyes, BA, is a second-year Doctor of Audiology student at Lamar University. A native of Houston, Texas, she earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Spanish, with a minor in Mexican American Studies, from the University of Houston. Her professional interests focus on bilingual audiology and advancing accessible hearing healthcare for individuals from low socioeconomic backgrounds, with a strong commitment to promoting equitable healthcare access and bridging linguistic and cultural gaps in audiological services. Her previous research endevours include the Audiology Economics and Rehabilitative Outcomes (AERO) Laboratory and the Balance Research & Auditory Integration Network (BRAIN) at Lamar University.
