Dr. Emily Patterson earned her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and her Doctorate of Audiology at Purdue University, following a clinical fellowship at Indiana University Medical Center (Indianapolis). Dr. Patterson joined Marquette’s Speech Pathology and Audiology Department as a Clinical Assistant Professor in 2015 and became Department Chair in 2021. She teaches undergraduate and graduate students in three courses: Introduction to Audiology, Hearing Disorders, and Audiological Rehabilitation. Dr. Patterson oversees audiology services at the Marquette Speech and Hearing Clinic, where student clinicians provide comprehensive audiologic evaluations and aural rehabilitation for the public, including uninsured individuals, and the campus community. Before joining Marquette University, Dr. Patterson worked as a hospital-based audiologist in rural southwestern Wisconsin, serving patients across the lifespan. She is deeply committed to service, serving on various university committees and as a member of the Ethical Practices Committee for the American Academy of Audiology.
