Dr. Heidi Ramrattan is an Associate Professor in the Communication Disorders & Sciences Department at Eastern Illinois University. She holds a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Eastern Illinois University.
With experience as both an audiologist and speech-language pathologist, Dr. Ramrattan has worked in private practice, educational settings, and veteran disability evaluations. She helped establish a listening and spoken language preschool program at Illinois State University and developed an Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) protocol for the Heart of Illinois Low-Incidence Association.
Her research focuses on auditory and language processing, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in communication sciences. She is dedicated to improving access to culturally responsive hearing healthcare and speech-language services, particularly for underserved populations.
