Marissa Gallan is pursuing her Au.D at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA, and will complete her externship at the VA Boston Healthcare System in the coming year. With a Communication Sciences and Disorders foundation from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Marissa has cultivated a passion for audiology through her academic coursework and clinical experience across multiple settings, including fast-paced hospitals, private practices, and ENT clinics. Marissa's interests lie in vestibular audiology, interprofessional education, and finding ways to increase access and understanding of audiological services. Inspired by early exposure to communication difficulties through her mother's work as a speech-language pathologist, Marissa's commitment to improving the quality of life for those with hearing and balance impairments has deepened through her patient interactions and research opportunities. Marissa serves as the MGHIHP SAA Inaugural Chapter President.
