Paula Kensler, PhD, DNP, MBA, RN (she/her/hers)

Paula A. Kensler, PhD, DNP, MBA, RN, has been the Program Director of the Executive Nurse Leader Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans since 2016. She earned her Diploma in Nursing from Charity Hospital School of Nursing in 1979, BSN from Loyola University in 1984, MBA from the University of New Orleans in 2003, MSN in Health Care Systems Management from Loyola University in 2008, DNP from LSUHSC in 2014, and PhD in Nursing from LSUHSC in 2024. Dr. Kensler has over 40 years of nursing experience at East Jefferson General Hospital, including 20+ years in administration and 9 years in academia. Her honors include the 2024 Sigma Theta Tau Distinguished Graduate Award, the 2018 Outstanding Alumnus Award, 2010 New Orleans City Business Health Care Heroes and 2003 Louisiana State Nurses Association Nightingale Award – Mentor of the Year.
