LaGuinn P. Sherlock, AuD, is a research audiologist with the Defense Center for Public Health - Aberdeen, with duty at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. She has spent over 30 years working as a clinical and research audiologist. Her experience with the civilian and military populations has facilitated a broad understanding of factors that influence successful clinical outcomes. She has studied the effects of hearing loss and hearing aids on speech understanding, localization ability, and quality of life. Her current primary research interests include tinnitus prevalence in the military, tinnitus screening and management protocols, and measuring the functional impact of tinnitus. Dr. Sherlock has been recognized by the Military Audiology Association for her contributions to the advancement of research in hearing sciences. She has been a board member and chair of the American Tinnitus Association, and is currently serving on the ATA's Scientific Advisory Committee.
