Abstract: Support personnel can be a valuable resource to any practice. A strategic plan to incorporate licensed Audiology Aides can help with business process improvement as well as clinical assistance. The purpose of this mini module will be to highlight an inclusive training program, examine laws and regulations governing licensure, and describe the role that audiologists play in developing effective ways to utilize aides in everyday clinical settings.
Summary Audiology is a profession that is growing in recognition, and with this recognition comes the need for a well-organized and efficient support team. The incorporation of licensed Audiology Aides can help improve clinic flow as well as customer satisfaction. This module will examine how Audiology Aides can be utilized as an extension in the clinic to assist with pediatric hearing evaluations to achieve best outcomes, help troubleshoot equipment as well as provide administrative support with numerous clerical duties. This presentation will also set forth specific training elements for a licensed Audiology Aide in a pediatric setting.
